Friday was Sant Jordi's Day that I can define as the Catalan Saint Valentine's. Men give us roses and we give them a book, you can read the story here. The rest of the weekend has been very quiet: a visit to an Ancient Roman fair, rehearsing and doing homework. I also tried to make a gift to my mum but my sewing machine didn't want to work, I think she misses the technician. Anyway, I will have to buy it instead of making it, so sad...

Monday again...

...and it has started pretty early, at 8am with a French exam!

I've been a little bit overwhelmed for the past days: university, work, French institute, wedding, theatre... But I have to focus because if I don't do it, I'll be lost during the whole term and that's not good...

Anyway, yesterday was my friend's son birthday and I attended to his party in a very nice cafeteria, actually a focacceria, called Buenas Migas. Oliver is a big little boy now, he is 1 year old!

Holidays!

Yeahp! I'm on holidays! I finished all my exams, uploaded all my papers... so now it's time to relax!

Yesterday I had lunch with my friend Anna and then we had a tea with her friends at Caelum (a very very nice cafeteria in Barcelona). Although the sky was grey and it wanted to start raining, we headed to the harbor to see the fishes and after that we went for a walk to the Parc de la Ciutadela. Anna and Owen rented a boat and we (Jen and I) took some pictures of them while we chat.I took some more pictures of the park and a very typical one with the huge mamut that is in there.And another one of the Arc de Triomf.We were really exhausted and they invited me to have dinner at their place where we talk and play and laugh and laugh and laugh. It was such a funny day!

China

Este fin de semana largo ha estado lleno de pequeños detalles que han hecho que mi deseo de descubrir China y de aprender mandarín vuelva a instalarse en mi cabeza.

El sábado después de cenar, convencí a mi hermana para ver una película china que me encanta: Memorias de China. Siempre la había visto en versión original pero como a mi hermana no le apetecía leer subtítulos, la vimos en español.

Por otro lado, ayer, después de haberme pasado todo el día buscando info para aprender chino online, encendí la tele y dí con el programa Pekín Express. Nunca lo había visto y creo que no es la primera edición. Los concursantes iban de pueblo en pueblo y de ciudad en ciudad... eso es lo que me gustaría hacer si algún día pongo los pies en tierras chinas.

Y, lo último ha sido lo que me ha dicho hoy mi amiga Xiaonan. Hemos quedado (por fin! hacía más de seis meses que no nos veíamos!) y me ha dicho que en agosto del año que viene se iba con una amiga valenciana a Shanghai, Pekín y otras ciudades más pequeñas con la excusa de la Expo que se celebrará en Shanghai de mayo a octubre. Me ha invitado a ir con ellas!!! Oleole! De momento, empiezo a ahorrar y si para cuando vayan a comprar el billete tengo el dinero suficiente ahorrado, pues creo que me iré.

Money, money, money. Él tiene la última palabra. Esperemos que todo vaya bien!

It's time to go to the doctor...

I hate going to the doctor but today I went to two different ones :S

Después de que me sacaran sangre (y me hicieran un morado), he ido a desayunar a una cafetería que está justo enfrente del hospital. Se llama "La Llàntia" y me encanta. Le he pedido al dueño si podía hacer una foto del techo, sí, sólo del techo porque sinó me hubiera puesto a sacar fotos como una loca, jejeje! Cada rincón es diferente, es genial!


Mientras hacía tiempo para ir al otro médico, me he paseado por el centro y le he hecho una foto al escaparate de una tiendecita take-away de comida japonesa. La tienda es mona y la comida está buena pero es exageradamente cara!!! También venden teteras y tacitas, supercute!


Y después de esta movida mañana, me voy a trabajar. Turno de tarde...

Anna's Birthday

May 29th was Anna’s birthday. She made a 3-days-plan and told her friends to come whenever they can to celebrate her 22nd birthday. So I decided to join her and her other friends on Saturday. The plan was meeting at Sants Estació at 1pm but everybody was late and we finally left at 2pm, we took the train to Sitges. Once there, we had lunch and spent the afternoon in the beach. It was funny and all her friends were nice. Around 6.30pm we left the beach and we took the train to come back.

What did I give her for her birthday? A card made for me (of course) and a very nice summer shawl (she liked it!). I was so on rush that I forgot to take a picture of the card, I will ask her to take one and send it to me, so I’ll post it.
